My Mini-Temple Trip

So, this past Thanksgiving was really really good!!! It was filled with home, family, friends, yummy yummy food, and just taking a break from classes and upcoming finals.
In deciding what I was going to do, I went on a journey down to good ol' AF to visit my roommate and then we would go to the Mt. Timpanogus Temple in the morning and do baptisms!!
K, here's some crazy facts!! From Logan to Provo, there are 9 (soon to be 10 with the announcement of the Brigham City Temple) temples in that short 2 and 1/2 hours!!! CRAZY!! But so great that the gospel is so strong and that a nearby temple is so convenient to me. On my journey to AF, I visisted the temples going from my house to Provo. It was an amazing adventure and I love temples!! My temple: the Jordan River Utah Temple. People doubt this temple a lot because it's plain and the grounds aren't spectacular, but I think it's gorgeous and I would really like to be married here one day.....or if my future husband wants to be married in a different temple, that's fine too!

Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple
Draper Utah Temple
Crossing the border line into Utah County!! Here's the Mt. Timpanogos Utah Temple. Ahhhh, I love this temple!!!
And ending my trip, here's the Provo Utah Temple.
I had an enjoyable time with my wonderful wonderful roommate and we enjoyed our time in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple doing baptisms.
Oh, how truly blessed I am!! I am grateful for temples that continually dot the Earth to bring a little bit of heaven here.
One day, I will extend my temple tour and do ALL of the temples in Utah!! (There's 13 of them from Logan to St. George)
Now, wish me luck on finals!!!

I DONATED!

Imagine this picture about 6 months later....in a different room....with a different shirt on.....plus imagine it with a red bandage instead of a green one.

Cuz on Wednesday, I officially donated my blood!!! I was so proud of myself. It went really fast, and then I passed out at the Recovery Station.

YAY for me, I donated blood!! (3 weeks 'til end of classes!!)

Farewell Tiger

I am quite saddened to announce that last Tuesday, our beloved family cat, "Tiger" died.
Throughout the years, she has been a faithful cat to our family. I remember her purrs, playful side, sleeping (like on the heater...), going to the strangest places in our house, getting used to having little kids and puppies in the house, meowing very loudly in the morning to get some food, etc. She was old and had some difficulties her last weeks. It definately appeared that she was suffering with every movement, so I'm glad that she's now resting in kitty heaven. My father just couldn't contain himself with joy from this passing.

Now for the future, who knows if we'll acquire another pet? All the kids are grown up either working or going to school. I can imagine my dad getting a dog, and I would like that as well even though I'm not living there!! But we will always remember Tiger.

So it's now November. How crazy is that??!!!! It was nice in the morning to have some more light coming in because of Daylight Saving time yesterday). My roommates (well the 2 crazy ones...lol) have dubbed this month "Naughty November" (that means I have to lose my acclaimed VL status). Hahahahahaha, I just wanna keep it even more just in spite of Naughty November!!)

I bet'cha I still keep it by the end of the month!

A Bad Attitude?

Sundays are such a great day!!!

I love waking up on Sunday because I can sleep in and just bask in the glow that I only have to go to church today. Other than that, I can be a hermit for the rest of the day. This happiness lasts 'til Ward Prayer when evening comes and I begin to realize that tomorrow is Monday- the beginning of another week.

It's sad to know, and it's even more sad to hear me say that!! But sometimes I am really not looking forward to Monday. I get so caught up in the week with school, homework, etc. I feel so rushed and cannot wait for the weekend to come! As a college student, I think about a lot of things like classes, tests, assignments, roommates, work, money, deadlines, etc. Ahhhh!!! Take my word for it, it's not very fun!

Today however was Regional Conference. Some phrases were said that I just absolutely love that I wanna share to help boost off my week!
-"When obedience becomes more of a quest than an irritant- the Lord will truly bless us."
-"Be not decieved! Commit our lives to the fulness of the Gospel. Stay solid and don't be easily decieved by the lies of Satan"
-"Seek ye first the kingdom of God. And all things shall be added unto you."

Now do I have a bad attitude? Well, it's gotten better...

Emily and Tyler's Wedding

Beware: This post contains lots of photos!! Ahh, this reminds me of posting about Brighton days...But this post is about 3 events, 2 people, 1 destiny! Here's the proud parents of the bride getting ready for the beautiful reception that was outside on a most perfect day!

Emily and Tyler. Celebrating their marriage a day before their wedding. Sounded pretty weird to me!
They had their cake and ate it too.
Here's the next day (Saturday)! Emily and Tyler were married for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple.
Awwwww...
Their first kiss as husband and wife. Well, their first kiss known to the public eye...
Ok, so we had the whole picture thing outside the temple which was very exhausting. This picture was really funny to watch because the photographer wanted everyone to kiss, and the boys lift up their foot (like a "foot-poppin' kiss!). So there's my dad doing it right, but that lasts for a second more. My parents stop kissing while the other two couples are holding their kisses, and my mom says, "Oh, they want us to go longer!" So she and my dad kiss again and my dad continually keeps pumping out his leg for the picture!! Oh, that was sooo funny!
Parents of the bride!
Our lovely family- now plus Tyler, at the temple! Sadly, the lady that took this picture with my camera waited longer, so not everyone is smiling!
The three sisters.
Awwww, I love the wedding pictures of just the birde and groom outside the temple! They're a cute wedding couple...
At the wedding luncheon.....
Then the next Friday, we had another reception down in Provo.
It was a pretty laidback reception. So what do I do??? I make good use of the toilet paper and peanut butter I brought up to decorate their car!!! Yes, I was the criminal mastermind behind that!
Here's my family at that reception. Me and my other sister Elizabeth are wearing matching dresses (though they're not the same..) and exactly the same pair of shoes!! Don't look at me- the shoes that I'm wearing were borrowed from my roommate!

Anywho, that was a busy 2 weekends for me!! But it's over, they're happy, and I'm pretty happy with the guy that Emily picked!

In another note, school has been going ok. I've had some tests and quizzes this last week, so I'm excited for Fall Break to just relax and catch up on things like moving my room at home, uploading pics, etc.!

In one week.....

In one week, these two happy people will be married for time and all eternity! This is my sister Emily and her fiance Tyler! It's a good thing that I don't have any big tests or quizzes this week. I don't think that I'll be able to pay attention with thinking about the wedding.

Good luck you two!!! Tyler, take good care of my sister!

Back 2 School

Hurrah! Hurrah! Time for another marvelous school year to continue!!

This year is going good so far. This semester I have 13 credits. In one of those credits, I'm taking a PE Jog/Walk class. In that class, I run at least 1 and 1/2 miles each day. The first day was really really tough because my body wasn't very happy with me!! My thighs, hamstrings, really really HURT!! Well, at least I knew that my muscles were working.....but they're getting better and hurting less and less each time. I've never had a real desire before to become physically active, but we'll see how I feel when this class is over.

My apartment this year is really good too! There's 5 girls total in our apartment, which works out quite well for space. The only bad thing is that each month, we each pay for utilities and Internet. Ouch! I can already feel my money going down the drain.

Along with that, I'm still searching for a job...any references?? Thankfully, over the summer I've gained a new love for the phrase "Trust in the Lord" I know that God has a plan for me and He believes that I can reach my true potential if I walk by faith. So I will trust in the Lord today.

I'll leave you with a wonderful quote that I found in one of the Institute rooms:
"To excercise faith is to trust that the Lord knows what He is doing with you and that He can accomplish it for your eternal good even though you cannot understand how He can possibly do it."- Richard G. Scott
